The Git Template Factory foundation component provisions and manages the platform's repository template factory repositories. These templates serve as the base codebases, CI/CD pipeline structures, and security defaults for new platform components.

Managed Template Repositories​

  • uk-dvt-gcloud-git-template-factory-hub: Central distribution hub and catalog for template repositories.
  • uk-dvt-gcloud-git-template-factory-iac: Starter template for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components.
  • uk-dvt-gcloud-git-template-factory-agents-cli: Starter template for Google Agents CLI / ADK agent applications.
  • uk-dvt-gcloud-git-template-factory-agent-runtime: Starter template for containerized Vertex AI Agent Runtime applications.

Template Ingestion​

When a component is declared from a template in templates/, its GitHub repository is initialized from the corresponding template factory repository with pre-configured GitHub Actions workflows, Workload Identity Federation, and GCS remote state storage.
